I have heard that about 80% of all blackbirds will die this winter. I have seen one or two in the garden and hopefully they enjoy the fat placed in a “birdfeedinghouse”.

Very nice! And you had some sun as well, it seems! No blackbirds here, just pigeons, sparrows and a lot of green parrots.
I love this. And the Beatles song "Blackbird" is among my all time favorites. Hope this little one manages to survive the frost.

This little fellow does look very small and open to the elements and that ice is probably not helping at all.
However, this is a gorgeous photograph. The light on the grass has been captured to perfection. Shame the sun was not warmer longer for this little fellow.
