For many centuries the tombs of Danish Kings and Queens are in Roskilde Cathedral. In the coming days some of the sarcophagi will be shown at the blog. Here it is the sarcophagus of Chr. IV (1588-1648).
Splendid photo – I have never visited Denmark and don't know much about your country's history so I really enjoyed browsing through your blog and seeing such remarkable works of art as this one.
Thank you for the award but I generally don't participate in these. I will not pass it on. If you wish the chain to continue you might want to pass it on to someone else?
That's a good photo idea. He became King at the age of eleven!
How beautiful. And so well preserved!

Kind regards
What a great, historic photo! I wonder if I'll be buried in my church like that??!
King Leif of Eagan
So ornate and beautiful.
I am getting caught up on all your sarcophagi. Each one is so different.
